Saturday the last full day in Tokyo Greg and I went to Tokyo Dome City, a small amusement park in the middle of the city. The park has three big rides a centerless ferris wheel, a roller coaster and a U shaped pseudo coaster. We didn’t ride the ferris wheel as we had already been on two. The roller coaster was really fun, it is the biggest one I have been on yet. The stats for the coaster are 1124m long, 80.5 m high, 66.6m drop, max speed 127km/h, and pulls 4.39G. The U shaped coaster was also fun it is the first coaster I have been on where you dangle your feet during the ride. We had a good view of the city when coming up the front of the U. On the back side we could really only see the parking lot.
For dinner we hunted down a vegetarian restaurant for Greg, Mominoki House. It was a bit tricky to find the location as it was not on the map at the station. We had to ask one of the station guys where to go. Once in the general area we had to ask three different businesses where it was. Addresses make no sense in Japan, house numbers are based on when the first building in that location was built or something else nonsensical. At least the food was tasty for vegetarian fair. The service was a little off as one our dishes was forgotten, which gave us room for desert later.
The restaurant was close to Shibuya so we walked over, when I saw this shirt I couldn’t help but think of all the girls I know. Also on the way we listened to a Japanese rock band playing on the street. They were very enthusiastic, but not very good. I wonder how long a fully amplified rock band could play on the street in other cities. To finish the night a photo of a GAP ad campaign I don’t think they would run in North America.
